40ft Yacht with prop issue. Lifeboat launched to assist a vessel with a jib sheet caught around the prop between Lymington and Newtown. A tow was established with the vessel and towed back to Lymington’s harbourmaster pontoon.

Lifeboat was called to reports of a kite surfer in trouble near Tanners lane. The crew quickly spotted the casualty low in the water near Tanner lane and recovered them into the lifeboat and proceeded back to the station.

Dramatic rescue of four people from a stranded RIB, stuck on the marshes east of Lymington River. Under extreme weather conditions the crew found the vessel on the lee shore on the marsh. Two RNLI crew were dropped at the edge of the marsh and supported each casualty one at a time to the lifeboat. Given the sea state and the tide conditions it was unsafe to recover the vessel at the time. The casualties were taken to Lymington and transferred to the care of the ambulance service.

Search for yacht that broke off 999 call to Solent CG reporting that they were disabled between Old Harry Rocks and the Needles.
Searched Christchurch Bay and out to the Needles Fairway Buoy nothing found. Search widened by CG with Swanage RNLI All Weather lifeboat finding vessel off Bournemouth and towing to Poole.

Took over tow from Freshwater Independent Lifeboat of Lymington based craft they had been towing from Brooke Ledges off IOW South West coast.

Two persons clinging to hull of dinghy off West side of Hurst Spit. Capsized dinghy righted. Its rescue boat towed off beach and both boats escorted back into Solent.

Immediate second task to Mayday call from a RIB sinking off Beaulieu after hitting large waves and suffering electrical failure.
Arrived to find only RIB console showing above water, two crew evacuated and transferred to Beaulieu (one for medical assistance). Returned to the Solent and in a joint operation with the Yarmouth all weather lifeboat pumped out RIB and towed it to Beaulieu.

Two teenage boys ferried ashore from Wight Sky rescue boat having been spotted clinging to their capsized dinghy by a passenger. Lifeboat crew then returned to the Solent to find, right and sail the dinghy back.

Gentlemen lost finger in winch. Yacht concerned commenced transit to Lymington to be met by Lifeboat en route. Injured person treated on boat and then evacuated to Lymington. Subsequently collapsed in the boathouse whilst awaiting ambulance, treated by shore crew.

Shout 21 Called 0926 Ret 0946 – Small motor boat broken down off Warden Ledge in middle of Round the Island (RTI) Fleet!
Shouts 22 – 25 various times – RTI Yachts observed hitting the Varvassi Wreck off the Needles.

Shout 21 Towed to safe waters. Engine restarted and escorted to safety by Sea Start.
Shouts 22 – 25 RTI yachts observed hitting the Varvassi Wreck. Safety check by RNLI crew – no further action. Yachts continued racing.
Shout 25 – as above but Yacht retired to Gosport under own power
Lifeboat diverted from return passage to search for small RIB reported as overdue in same area as original shout.

Vessel found off Milford Beach with owner attempting to row sunken vessel back to Avon Beach (Mudeford). He’d been at sea since 10.30 with no radio, no flares, no lifejacket and a wet mobile phone! Boat towed to Keyhaven and handed over to Lymington Coastguards.

Stood down by Coastguards whilst searching from Keyhaven entrance to Milford Beach – sailing dinghy apparently returned to shore prior to our arrival.

Lifeboat diverted from return passage to join both Calshot Lifeboats in Central Solent / Southampton Water search in poor visibility. Vessel found off entrance to River Itchen and once stabilised by Calshot crew, we were stood down allowing us to return home after just shy of 9 hours at sea!

Calm and Clear
Unable to get inshore due to the low tide, two lifeboat crew walked across the mud to the vessel to find a young fisherman aboard a small inflatable ‘pool toy’ dinghy. Occupant recovered to lifeboat station for a warming shower and then into hands of grateful parents.
Lifeboat returned to service at 21:55 after a deep clean

Vessel initially held off the bank by UK Border Force vessel. Lifeboat took over tow and brought to safety via the North Channel.

Injured walker was in an unreachable position by road riverside location on the upper reaches of the Beaulieu River.
Working with our blue light partners, the lifeboat crew assisted in the extrication of an injured walker, transporting them down the river bank and across mud into the lifeboat for delivery to specialist care.
